What Actually Happens Between Signing Up and Your First Content Box
You signed up. Now what?
That's the question every founder asks right after they see a pricing page and think "okay, this looks decent." Nobody wants to hand their brand over to a stranger without knowing what happens next.
So here's the exact timeline, no fluff.
What to have ready before your call
You don't need much, but showing up with these speeds everything up: a sense of your last 3 months of content (what worked, what flopped), 2-3 competitor accounts whose style you like, and any non-negotiables — colors, phrases, topics to avoid. We'll ask for these anyway. Having answers ready before the call saves a week.
Step 1: The onboarding call (Day 1-2)
We hop on a 20-30 minute call. Not a sales pitch — you already signed up. This is where we learn your brand: who you're talking to, what you've tried before, what worked, what didn't. We ask about your voice, your competitors, and what "good content" looks like to you specifically.
Step 2: You pick your plan (Day 1-2)
If you haven't already. Most people start with the Pilot Box — a low-risk first month so you can see our process before committing to a bigger plan. Once you know what you need, you move up from there.
Step 3: You send us your assets (Day 2-4)
Logos, brand guidelines, product photos, past content, whatever you've got. If you don't have formal "brand guidelines" — most small businesses don't — that's fine. We build a lightweight one from the onboarding call and whatever assets exist.
This step moves at your pace. The faster you send assets, the faster we start building.
Step 4: We build your box (Day 4-14)
This is the part people are most skeptical about. "How do you make custom content for a brand you just met?"
Fair question. Here's the honest answer: we don't reuse templates across clients. Every reel, every graphic, every caption is scripted and designed against your brand assets and your onboarding call, not pulled from a template library. That's slower than templating, but it's the only way the content actually sounds like you.
By day 14, you get your first content box: Reels, graphic posts, captions, and a 30-day content calendar mapped out so you know what's posting when.
Step 5: One round of revisions (Day 14-18)
You look through everything. Tell us what's off — tone, pacing, a caption that doesn't sound like you. We revise. This is built into every plan, not an upsell.
Step 6: You post (Day 18 onward)
The calendar tells you what goes up and when. You post it, or your team does. We're not managing your account for you — we're handing you a month of content, ready to go.
Then the cycle repeats the following month, minus the onboarding call.
Why the timeline sometimes stretches
Two things push the 14-day build out further: slow asset delivery (if we're waiting on your logo files or photos, the clock pauses) and extra revision rounds beyond the one that's included. Neither is a dealbreaker — we'd rather get it right than rush it — but it's worth knowing upfront so month one doesn't feel like it's dragging.
What trips people up
The most common question we get before signing: "Is this actually custom, or am I paying $700 for a template with my logo slapped on it?"
We get why people ask. A lot of agencies in this space do exactly that. Our answer is in the process above — the onboarding call and the asset intake exist specifically so the box isn't generic. If you want to sanity-check this before committing, our FAQ page walks through the most common objections in more detail, and our pricing page breaks down exactly what's in each plan.
If you're still deciding whether to commit to a full month, the Pilot Box exists for exactly this reason — try the process once at a lower price before you scale up.
